REQUEST FOR THE INCLUSION OF AN ADDITIONAL ITEM IN
THE PROVISIONAL AGENDA OF THE SEVENTH MEETING,
SUBMITTED BY THE PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF ITALY
TO THE UNITED NATIONS

NOTIFICATION OF CANDIDATURES TO THE COMMITTEE ON
THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD (ARTICLE 43, PARAGRAPH 4
OF THE CONVENTION)

Note by the Secretariat

The Secretariat wishes to inform all States parties to the Convention on the Rights of the Child that, in connection with the Seventh Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, to be held in New York on 16 February 1999, it received a letter dated 11 February 1999 from the Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations requesting that the following item be included in the provisional agenda of the Meeting as new agenda item 5:

"Notification of candidatures to the Committee on the Rights of the Child (article 43, paragraph 4 of the Convention)"

and that the subsequent agenda items (current items 5, 6 and 7 in document CRC/SP/23) be renumbered accordingly.
