                          Note by the Secretary-General

                                    Addendum

     The Secretary-General wishes to inform all States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of the Child that he received a note verbale from the Permanent Mission of Fiji to the United Nations dated 4 February 1999, indicating that the Government of Fiji has decided to withdraw the nomination of Ms. Nazat Shameem to the election of five members of the Committee on the Rights of the Child to replace those whose terms are due to expire on 28 February 1999.
