Addendum

After the preparation of document CAT/SP/24, the Secretary-General has received a note verbale of the Permanent Mission of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to the United Nations Office at Geneva, dated 19 November 2001, informing him that the Government of Algeria had decided to withdraw the nomination of Ms. Farida Aļouaze to the election of five members of the Committee against Torture to replace those whose terms are due to expire on 31 December 2001.
