¹ On 3 October 1990 the Federal Republic of Germany notified the Secretary-General that through the accession of the German Democratic Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany, with effect from 3 October 1990, the two German states had united to form one sovereign state, to act in the United Nations under the designation “Germany”.

² In its concluding observations adopted on 30 January 2004, the Committee on the Rights of the Child recommended that the State party submit a combined third and fourth periodic report by 4 April 2009.

³ The third and fourth periodic reports were submitted together as one document.
